Interventional and Vascular Neurologist
Maxwell Farkas began his medical career as an EMT, volunteering for the Bergenfield Volunteer Ambulance Corps. From there, he was inspired and motivated to pursue a higher-level medical degree. He graduated from Touro University in January 2022 with a dual degree, earning a Bachelor’s in Health Sciences and a Master’s in Physician Assistant Studies.
About Maxwell Farkas
Since graduating from Touro and obtaining board certification from the NCCPA, Max has gained extensive experience in the field of stroke neurology and neuro interventional radiology, working at thrombectomy-capable stroke centers such as Care Point Health and White Plains Hospital. He also has experience managing stroke patients in LTACH and skilled nursing facilities throughout New Jersey, as well as some neurosurgical experience assisting in the pre-op and post-op care of patients undergoing brain and spine procedures. He is a member of the American Academy of Physician Associates and the American Heart Association.
As a Physician Assistant, Max integrates his decade-long prehospital experience and mindset into his everyday practice. At the forefront of medical care, he values patient interaction and medical education. He is certified by the AHA to teach CPR, BLS, and ACLS, and he is the founder of Act First Emergency Training, a CPR and emergency training LLC based in Teaneck, NJ. He strives to continue raising stroke awareness and enhancing patient care.
